Actually this was an easy one: Installing the drivers for the eGalax touch screen.
Just downloaded the latest drivers from:
http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalaxTouchDriver/linuxDriver.htm
Then unpacked with tar xvfz eGalaxTouch-3.06.5625-32b-k26.tar.gz
Then just ran as root (sudo su) the setup.sh script and calibrated the screen by running eGalaxTouch from the commandline as was dictated by the setup (after a reboot).
Now my finger can handle the computer. Just miraculous.
